This scheme provides a door-to-door transport service for residents of Salisbury, Monday to Friday (not public holidays). Bookings could be for a doctor or hospital appointment, trip to the shops or simply to visit family or friends. Wherever you want to go, our aim is ‘getting you there’.
All our car drivers are volunteers, wonderful people that have given up their own spare time helping us to help you, to make it possible to do the things that most of us take for granted. At an arranged time we will collect you from your home, the driver if required will assist you into the car, making sure you are secure in your seat. On arrival at your chosen destination, drivers will again help you out of the car. Should your return to home pick-up include your shopping, once again if required, drivers will be happy to assist you with your shopping bags into your home.
For each car journey, drivers will have your details, any mobility needs, your pick-up point and destination. If you have a return car journey booked with us, in some circumstances you may be collected by a different volunteer driver. When driving for us, all volunteer drivers are issued with identification badges and for your peace of mind all of our volunteer drivers have to carryout an enhanced DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check.
Car Bookings
At CTSW our car booking system could not be any easier. There will normally be someone available to answer your call between 09:00am and 13:00pm, Monday to Friday. Outside of these times you will be able to leave a message.
You simply call our designated telephone number 01722 410123 telling us who you are, date of required booking, destination, pick-up time (appointment time if attending a medical appointment) and if required a return time.
All we ask is that you give us as much advance notice as you can to avoid disappointment. Though we appreciate that sometimes this is not always possible with short notice appointments from the doctor or hospital – we will always endeavour to do our best to fit you in.
Should you have to cancel a booking, please be aware that dependent on the notice of the cancellation there may be a nominal cancellation charge applied. In the event that you have to cancel, for example due to illness, all we ask is that you inform us as quickly as possible so we can advise the driver in good time of journey.
Please note, as our service is delivered by volunteer drivers using their own vehicles, this means that the availability of drivers will vary. Drivers let us know when they are available, and we will allocate journeys to them on a first-come-first-served basis.
